Rawhide leather – The leather of the kings

Also called Galuchat, as it was made by the belt of the French King Louis XV. called Jean-Claude Galluchat in the western world as a luxury material. In the 18th century, rough leather was an expression of the way of life of the nobility living in France. Until the middle of the century, rayon leather was widely used throughout Europe and was used to decorate the most precious items.

Although ray is a popular food fish in Asia, its leather counts as a rarity. In addition to the special look, rayon leather is highly wear-resistant. Due to its tear and rip-fastness, this leather outperforms all other types of leather. As the skin surfaces of fish are usually very small, fish leather is a rare thing. Over the last few years, rough leather furniture has become increasingly popular. The top layer of the skin is made from small shiny and mother-of-pearl horn domes. The pearl ray has a raised zone in the middle of the back, which is set by larger beads.
